"A new little someone" gift collection

I realized that I shared this collection on Instagram and never added it to the blog! I created this gift collection in late December/early January for a dear friend who had her sweet baby boy! I had asked her the colors of the nursery for a jumping off point and I really like how everything came together. The collection includes: handmade felt baby booties, neck tie, bow tie, binky clip and rag quilt.
Here is a closeup of the baby booties. I am so glad that I found a boy shoe that I like gifting as much as the girl shoes that I make. The recipients always seem so pleased with them. You can also see the rag quilt in the background of this photo. It has a trendy, rustic feel and the new mama told me it works perfectly in the nursery! I am so glad! The felt was all purchased at the local quilt shop and while I normally wouldn't have put this combination together, it really works!

Let's talk about the ties...one of my baby boy collection staples. They are so fun to make and easy to whip up. This particular pattern was found on Pinterest and it is my favorite. You can search on Pinterest under "baby ties" and a handful of tutorials and free patterns are available. I always like adding some papercrafting flair to give my handmade pieces that boutique-y feel, that I love so much.

I always have so much fun with the bowties. In fact, I had to make three more just like this one for my three little ones. They were a perfect addition to their Valentine's Day outfits for church last Sunday! I have offered to create a tutorial on the bow ties for anyone that is interested, just leave a comment to let me know. Once again, I like packaging them up on a cardstock base of some kind with the addition of some stamping. This particular stamp set is from Papertrey Ink and is my go-to set.

While the shoes are cute enough on their own, the packaging seems to take the presentation up a notch. It is also an easy way for me to keep a continuous flow with the theme of the collection. You can see the card that I included in the collection HERE. Have a wonderful day!
