Springy woven fabric basket

Do you love the name I gave this basket? I really didn't know what to call it!  I got a bee in my bonnet last year and wanted to make a little basket. I had no pattern and really no idea how I was going to construct what I had imagined, but with a little time and patience it came together.  My daughter ended up by giving it to her best friend with some Easter grass and candy inside and I tackily asked her mother if they still had it and if so, could I borrow it to "remember" how I made it.  It's a little wrinkled; her daughter had it stuffed somewhere, but I ironed it out a bit.
Each strip was made by creating a tube of fabric and then pressing each piece flat. My sweet sister who was over helped me turn out all of the pieces. Once that was done I got busy weaving each piece and figuring out how to construct it.

You can see the inside here and see how it was made a little bit better. If anyone is interested in a tutorial, leave a comment and I will get one put together. I am hoping to get some made this year, too! Thanks for stopping by!

Love, love, love your work. After reading your blog a year or so ago I made a rag quilt for my baby girl. I love it! Please, please, please share the pattern info for the little baby shoes you are soooo addicted too. I made some shoes for my little girl but they were not as nice as yours. I would love to get the pattern.
Thanks you for sharing all your lovely pics.
